"Alcohol always gives you the wrong idea. It makes you think you’re doing better, when you’re actually doing worse".

"If you’re partying all the time and you’re also creating all the time, you think there’s a correlation, but there’s none. It’s because you’re just doing two separate things. Drinking can’t help you be creative. It’s the opposite".

"I think that's what people can understand. Art can alter your perception. Music can alter your perception. Swimming can alter your perception".

"I love not drinking. I love life square on. I think it’s fun, I feel it’s a more courageous way to go, and it allows you to see things that you’ve missed".

"‘I think they don't realise what they’re capable of. Let’s say you probably achieve stardom as a drinker. So then you think to yourself, “Oh, well, this works”. But you don't realise you could be getting even better if you don't drink because you’ve never experienced it apart from when you were a child and you can’t remember".
